F. Initiatives changes to become FI Group to push its international activity


  • Over the last decade, the Group’s global turnover has grown by 480% reaching €90 million
  • Its workforce has increased by 650% (from 133 to more than 1,000 professionals)
  • At a global level, FI Group works with more than 11,500 clients, managing more than 20,000 projects a year.

F.Iniciativas, a consulting company specialized in the management of R&D Tax Reliefs and R&D Grants, is changing its name to FI Group. The firm, founded by Xavier Cazabon and Frédéric Bouté in Spain in 2000, is now changing its name to support international growth; it is currently present in 10 countries with 34 offices in America and Europe.

Over the last decade, the Group’s global turnover has grown by 480%, from €15.5 million generated in 2008 to €90 million in 2018.  Such growth is due to the constant evolution of the company that, over the years, has been providing more services.

Starting with management of innovation through SR&ED tax credit, the tax credit for the development of e-business, to grants and subsidies, FI Group assists its clients throughout the innovation value chain.

People at FI Group have been the catalyst of this growth and evolution

Talent has been the engine of FI Group’s growth which has believed that, by incorporating talent to it, is the only way to keep improving its services. Over the last 10 years, the number of employees at FI Group has increased by 650%, from 133 people to more than 1,000 professionals, distributed amongst the different international offices.

With respect to the change in the brand identity, the FI Group Canada Director, Lila Abid, states: « we want to put forward global partnering to our customers in order to provide them a real added value» within a common model for all markets. She also adds « our growing involvement in cross national RD&D funding projects requires a tailored approach adapted to the international needs of our customers».

Finally, Lila Abid recalls the core values of «transparency, efficiency, and professionalism » that have always guided the development of the Group.

With an eye for new opportunities and other continents

FI Group envisages to increase its presence in Europe, Latin America and Asia, by opening, in the short term, 3 to 5 new offices.
